Our volunteer program is vital to all of our work. Volunteers are our most valuable asset. Without volunteers we could not do the rescue work that we do.

Interacting with animals and receiving their unconditional love is very rewarding. Your contribution of time and talent can help save the lives of unwanted, stray or abused animals who cannot help themselves.

We have many volunteer opportunities to suit many different skills and interests. THE ANIMALS NEED YOU! They need loving foster homes and also volunteers who can donate a few hours of time each week to care for them and help them find permanent, loving homes.

It is VERY IMPORTANT that as a volunteer you realize that your piece, no matter how small or insignificant you feel it is, is critical to our rescue work. Our animals rely on you for their care. We ask that once you have agreed to an assignment, that you fulfill your commitment.

You must be reliable/dependable, have good people skills, be flexible and have an understanding of the mission and goals of our organization. You must also realize that we are a diverse group of people, all sharing a common interest, and be tolerant of the individuality of each of your fellow volunteers.

Many of our volunteer opportunities require training and a time commitment beyond what student volunteers are willing or able to accomplish. For students who are required to complete a community service project, or for volunteers who would like to help us but do not yet meet our age requirement (16 years or older), we have compiled the following list of project suggestions. We are also open to hearing about new project ideas you may have. So be creative and have fun!

Once you have selected a project, please contact us and let us know who you are, how we can contact you, and which project you would like to do. We can provide you with helpful materials and advice. If you need to have any paperwork filled out to verify that you have completed your community service requirement, please let our Volunteer Coordinator know, and allow plenty of time before your deadline.
