Sharon Espinola has more than 20 years of experience as a writer, marketing/corporate communications and public relations practitioner in a broad range of communication formats and field.

From 1994 to 2004 Sharon was a communications consultant. Her clients included MONY Life Insurance Company, H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center, Ventiv, AvMed Health Plan, High Tech Communications Consulting, Beltram Foodservice Group, and others.

Prior to becoming a consultant, Sharon, a Tampa, Florida native, held positions within the financial services, insurance and healthcare industries in Tampa; Atlanta, GA; and Princeton, NJ that included publication editor, communications manager and director of marketing.

From 1999 to 2001 Sharon was a board member of the Tampa Bay Chapter of Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), where she has served as secretary and program chairperson. From 1996 to 1998 she was a board member of the Suncoast Chapter of the International Association of Business Communications (IABC), where she served as EXCEL Award event chairperson and vice-president of communications. In 2001 Sharon won the Bronze Quill Award from IABC for her human resource communications work and in 1997 she received the Rookie of the Year Award from PRSA. She also held a membership in the American Medical Writers Association from 1997 to 2001.

Sharon is a strong believer in giving back to the community, which is demonstrated in her volunteer activities. As a volunteer for St. Francis Society Animal Rescue she has provided public relations services, served as the volunteer coordinator, fundraising co-chair and board member between 2002 and 2006. In 2002 she served as president of the Crystal Lakes Manors Homeowner’s Association, in 2001 she served as a committee member to establish the Lutz Branch Friends of the Library Chapter, from 1998 to 2006 she has served as a board member of the Lutz Civic Association, and from 1995 to 1996 she worked in grant development for the Puerto Rico Conservation Foundation.

Sharon holds a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications (1981) and a master’s degree in Latin American, Caribbean and Latino Studies (2003) from the University of South Florida (USF).
