Founder, Board President

Raquel Aluisy is the Southeast Regional Director for Emergency Animal Rescue Service (EARS), which is operated by United Animal Nations, North America’s leading provider of emergency animal rescue and disaster relief services.

Since 1996, Raquel has responded to over 16 disasters nationwide from floods to earthquakes to hurricanes. During non-disaster times, Raquel works full-time for Verizon Business and volunteers with St. Francis Society Inc., the dog and cat rescue organization she founded in 1997 in Tampa. She also trains individuals who want to join the EARS volunteer corps and help animals in disasters. She resides in Tampa, FL with her son, Gabriel and 5 dogs.

Raquel has been widely recognized for her efforts to help animals after Hurricane Charley. She received the Florida Animal Control Association’s Humanitarian Award and was named the 2005 United Way Volunteer of the Year for Pinellas and Hillsborough Counties. She has served on the Hillsborough County Animal Advisory Committee for 8 years, and is currently a member of the Florida SART Advisory Board and the National Council of Animals in Disasters.
