MaryJo Maruca

Dog Care Coordinator, Board Member

Mary Jo "MJ" is actively involved in the community with all aspects of animal welfare. In addition to her work with St. Francis, she also volunteers with Hillsborough County Animal Services and Community of Hillsborough Animal and Agricultural Response Team (CHAART). MJ is an Assistant Crisis Response Team Leader for the Emergency Animal Rescue Service (EARS). She is currently serving her first year of a four-year term as a member of the Hillsborough County Animal Advisory Committee.

MJ is employed full-time by Aramark as a Facility Manager at Ford Credit in Tampa. She manages a 120,500 square foot facility housing approximately 500 employees. She also has several years of experience in the environmental field – primarily in the petroleum industry. When not involved in animal rescue, MJ enjoys spending time with her "two-legged" friends on the Krewe of Pair O' Dice, a social organization that gives back to the community through fundraising and contributions to assist Bay Area families and children in need, as well as local shelters and organizations that provide for stray and homeless animals. Originally from northeast Ohio, MJ first came to Tampa in 1987. MJ resides in Tampa with her son, Brent, three Black Lab mixes, three cats and any number of fosters.
